# Plugin configuration

The general settings are located under **Extensions > My extensions > FAQ for SEO > Configure**. At the top of the page you can set the configuration per **sales channel**.

## FAQ Layout | Icons

| Setting                                          | Description                                                                                                                                        |
| ------------------------------------------------ | -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **FAQ preview**                                  | Live preview with sample questions. Changes to icons and columns are visible immediately.                                                          |
| **Icon pair**                                    | Symbols for expanding and collapsing the answers, e.g. plus/minus, arrows, chevrons or angles. Default: plus/minus as text.                        |
| **Show 2nd column**                              | Displays the FAQ list in two columns (FAQ page and shopping experience element).                                                                   |
| **Split 2nd column by**                          | **FAQ groups**: the second column starts after a certain number of groups. **FAQs**: the second column starts after a certain number of questions. |
| **2nd column after X groups** / **after X FAQs** | Number of groups or questions in the first column. The second column starts with group or question X+1.                                            |

## Footer and URL

| **Disable FAQ Link in Footer** | Controls the "FAQ" link in the footer. The link is shown once the option has been saved as disabled.                                                                                                           |
| **FAQ-Url Path**               | Path of the FAQ overview page, default `faq` (→ `https://your-domain.com/faq`). The URL of the overview page is updated automatically when saving. The URLs of the individual questions remain under `/faq/…`. |

| **Use snippets for the title and description of the FAQ page** | If enabled, headline and description are loaded from the snippets `seofaq.huebertSeoFaqPageTitle` and `seofaq.huebertSeoFaqPageDescription` (maintained under **Settings > Snippets**, per language). If disabled, the two following fields apply. |
| **Headline with h1 tag**                                       | Main headline of the FAQ overview page.                                                                                                                                                                                                            |
| **Description text for the SEO overview page**                 | Introduction text below the headline.                                                                                                                                                                                                              |
| **Meta title**                                                 | Page title of the FAQ overview page.                                                                                                                                                                                                               |
| **Meta description**                                           | Meta description of the FAQ overview page. Also used for question pages without their own meta description.                                                                                                                                        |

> **Tip:** For multilingual shops the option **Use snippets** is recommended, as snippets are maintained per language.
