# Installation & activation

## Installation

You can install the plugin in the usual ways:

**Via the administration (ZIP upload or Shopware Store)**

1. Open **Extensions > My extensions**.
2. Upload the file `HuebertSeoFaq.zip` or install the plugin from the Shopware Store.
3. Click **Install** for "FAQ for SEO".
4. Then activate the plugin using the toggle.

**Via the console (Composer/CLI)**

bin/console plugin:refresh
bin/console plugin:install --activate HuebertSeoFaq
bin/console cache:clear
```

## After activation

During installation the plugin creates the required database tables (`hueb_seo_faq_group`, `hueb_seo_faq_questions` incl. translation tables) and sets up the SEO URL of the FAQ overview page (default: `/faq`).

You will then find the plugin under **Content > FAQ for SEO** (see [Getting started](/faq-fuer-seo/english-documentation/erste-schritte.md)).

> **Tip:** Clear the cache once after installing or updating and reload the administration (Ctrl/Cmd + Shift + R).

## Update

New database fields are created automatically during an update. Your questions, groups and settings are kept.

## Uninstallation

When uninstalling you are asked whether the user data should be kept:

* **Keep data:** groups and questions stay in the database and are available again after a reinstallation.
* **Remove data:** the plugin tables are deleted and all groups and questions are removed irrevocably.

> **Tip:** Create a [CSV export](/faq-fuer-seo/english-documentation/import-export.md) as a backup before removing the data.
